The 78th Independence Day celebrations at Vidyodaya School commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony, where four students representing classes 1 to 4, proudly hoisted the National Flag in the presence of the Executive Trustee Dr. P Sreekumar, Principal Ms. Geetha Rajeev, Vice Principal Ms. Rekha T, students, teaching, and non-teaching staff. Parthiv Nair of Class 4 delivered the Independence Day speech, emphasizing the precious gift of freedom and its significance. Mahima S Lakshmy presented a captivating declamation on Jawaharlal Nehru’s iconic ‘Tryst with Destiny’ speech, highlighting the historic moment when India awoke to freedom. The highlights of the cultural programmes were the musical performance by The Vidyodaya band, ‘Swaratharangam’, and the skit ‘Thulika’ which brought to life the life and works of two great Indian poets, Rabindranath Tagore and Vallathol Narayana Menon.
