# 80th Independence Day Celebrations at Vidyodaya School
Vidyodaya School celebrated the *80th Independence Day* with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The celebrations began with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag. *Dr. P. Sreekumar, Executive Trustee; Mrs. Geetha Rajeev, Principal; Mrs. Rekha T., Vice Principal; former Social Science teacher Mr. Jyothi Rajan; school leaders; and two adorable Pre-KG students* came together to hoist the flag, making the occasion especially meaningful and memorable.
The flag hoisting was followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, filling the campus with a deep sense of pride and patriotism. *Senior School Leader Niranjana R.* delivered the Independence Day message, reflecting on the significance of freedom and the responsibilities that come with it.
Former Social Science teacher *Mr. Jyothi Rajan* spoke on the importance of freedom and reminded the students that independence is a precious legacy that must be valued, protected and preserved. His words inspired the students to understand that true freedom comes with responsibility and respect for the nation.
The celebrations were enriched by a series of special cultural programmes. The school music band, *Swaratharangam, presented a stirring group song that added to the patriotic spirit of the occasion. A special programme dedicated to our **motherland, India*, was also organised, bringing together music, performance and patriotic sentiments.
The celebration served as a heartfelt reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom and inspired every member of the Vidyodaya family to cherish the values of unity, responsibility and love for the nation.
