Independence day
Vidyodaya School celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The ceremony began with the Senior School Captain Haris Joseph Kavlakat, and other leaders of the school council hoisting the national flag in the presence of Vice-Chairman Major MGC Nair, Executive Trustee Dr. P Sreekumar, Principal Ms. Geetha Rajeev, Vice Principal Ms. Rekha T, Nursery in-charge Ms. Sunitha A Menon, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students.
This was followed by a series of events, including the national anthem, prayer, pledge, and community singing. The Vidyodaya Band ‘Swaratharangam’ presented a soul-stirring performance of “Vande Mataram” and other patriotic songs. Junior School Captain Rujain K Sali, in her Independence Day speech, encouraged all to join hands to build a ‘Viksit Bharat’ – a developed, self-reliant India, where every citizen lives with dignity, purpose, and pride. Riteesha K U, through her declamation, brought alive the timeless words of Subhash Chandra Bose, where he urged the Indians in 1944, in Burma, to support the Indian National Army. The audience was left spellbound when the performers of the skit “Veins of Fire, Hearts of Steel” depicted the sacrifice and courage during our nation’s freedom struggle. The programme concluded, leaving a sense of national pride and unity among all.
