Grandparents Day, an annual event in the Vidyodayan calendar of activities, is also regarded as the most auspicious of them all.Dr.A.K.Sabhapathi,the senior most surgeon of Kochi and the director of Krishna Hospital was the Chief Guest for this year’s celebration, which was attended by hundreds of Grandparents on the 7th of October. In his address, Dr. Sabhapathi urged the grandparents to infuse confidence in their grandchildren, especially in times of distress. In his inaugural address, Executive Trustee Dr. P. Sreekumar appealed to the grandparents to use their very many talents and abilities for the benefit of the students of Vidyodaya.
Sri.Vamana Shenoy was a special invitee for the programme which saw the grandparents sharing their pearls of wisdom.The highlight of the event was the Kathakali recital by the Chief Guest, who essayed the role of the poverty stricken Sudama, thereby sweeping the audience into an emotive current. Vidyodayan teachers regaled the audience with a variety entertainment programme. There was a full participation of the invitees in the enriching sessions. The guests of honour were served a hearty meal and they basked in the hospitality of the school management and staff.
