1.Matrubhumi SEED conducted World environment day program on 5/6/23 at Aluva Arboretum.10 students & 2 trs from our school attended.
2.The Biology Department celebrated World Ocean Day on Thursday, June 8th. The chief guest, Ms. KC Rekha, who is the first and only licensed fisherwoman in India, shared her experiences at sea. She encouraged children to be independent, self-confident, and responsible in preventing pollution at their level. The students of Class 9 presented a program about Ocean Pollution. The function was attended by Vice Chairman Sri MJC Nair, Dr. P Sreekumar, Principal Ms. Geetha Rajeev, and Vice Principal Ms.Rekha T.
3.The SHE (Self help Empowerment) program organised by Vidyodaya School, which focuses on the mental and physical empowerment of girls, was inaugurated by Port Trust Chair person Dr. M Beena on 12th June 2023. The girls are given self defence training in yoga and kalari. Special classes are organised for boys too.Vidyodaya Vice chairman MGC Nair, Executive Trustee Dr P Sreekumar Kumar, Principal MS Geeta Rajeev and Vice Principal MsRekha T felicitated the function.
4.Biology department celebrated blood donor day on 14th June.David Blessen of class 9c gave a speech on importance of blood donation during school assembly
5.School Election
School Election was conducted on 2oth June 2023. It gave students the opportunity to experience the taste of Adult franchise and understand democratic set up .

6.Vidyodaya celebrated International Yoga Day by conducting a special assembly for students of class 6-11. Rujain of 8B and Neha of 9B briefed about the importance of Yoga day and the benefits of yogic practices.The Vidyodayan Yoga team enthralled the audience with their gracful display on stage. Students were made to do asanas in the assembly.
7.Seminar on the topic ‘The changing landscape of career and higher Education ‘ for the students of std XI and XII Science Batch on 22-6-2023 at 10am

8.Vidyodaya school conducted a one day drama workshop on 24th June 2023 for about sixty selected students. Drama training was given on three different modules such as Voice modulation , Physical Theatre and Improvised Acting .Mr.Priya Raj ,Creative Head Social Media Of Mathrubhoomi  handled the first session whereas the second session on Physical theatre was done by the eminent theatre personality Mr Sudheer Babu. Rema K Nair introduced Improvised Acting to the children during the third session. Participation certificates were distributed to the participants.
9.A blood donation camp was held at vidyodaya school on 26/6/2023
10.Antidrug day was celebrated in the school campus.
11.On the occasion of Doctors’ Day, students of class 9 raised awareness on the spread of current epidemic diseases due to waste management and the role of doctors through a panel discussion during the morning assembly.
The focus was also on highlighting the history of Doctors’ Day.

13.In connection with the International Year of Millets, Vidyodaya School celebrated the richness of millets in one’s diet on 5th August. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Binoo P Bonny, Professor & Head, Dept. of Agriculture, Kerala Agricultural University. She enlightened the students on the importance of millet and the role it plays in sustainable development. She emphasized how millets were economical for farmers and contributes to the health and well-being of all.
Students were sensitized on the different types of millets through a presentation.
A millet exhibition showcasing the different dishes using millet was organized. An array of rich and healthy delicacies which are part of our routine were displayed. The exhibition allowed the highlighting of the state-wise distribution of millets. The 10 different types of Finger millets were also displayed.
Students from class 3-12 visited the exhibition stalls and gained awareness about millets.

As part of the SEED Club activity, different variety millet seeds were sown on the campus.
14.Cyber Safety Awareness class was conducted on Thursday,03/08/2023 for the students of std 6 at 12 noon in the AV hall.

15.Vidyodaya school conducted an exhibition on Science,English and ATL on 12th of August.
16.Hindi Divas was celebrated on 14/9/23
17.World Ozone Day was celebrated.
18.The department of English conducted the intra school literary competition -Litfest on 23rd September 2023, Saturday. Students participated in the following events:Fancy dress( 1&2), Picture description(3,4,5), Anchoring(6,7,8) and Monologue(9,10,11,12).
19.Sanskrit day was observed on 8th September in Vidyodaya. Sanskrit students of classes 3-10 interacted with the chief guest of the programme- Dr Jyotsna J, Association professor, Thrippunithura Sanskrit college. The audience was thrilled to see the children perform a sanskrit rhyme, skit and a song.
20.Students of NUALS conducted a class for std9 students
21.Financial literacy was conducted for teachers
22. 15 students and 2 teacher coordinators participated in the Interaction session by Shri Somnath S, Chairman, ISRO, Secretary Department of Space organized in association with VSSF 8th Science Conclave, 2023 on the Theme Earth to Moon story- The Space Odyssey on 7th October 2023 at Vikram Sarabhai Science School, Kakkanad, Cochin
23. 4 doctors from IMA gave a hands-on approach on CPR to class 9 students.
25. An interactive session on Judiciary and Indian Constitution for std 8 th was given on 8th of November.
26.As part of Raksha a class was given for students.
27.Millet Harvesting was conducted in the school campus by the seed club members.

30.Embracing Academic Alliances: Vidyodaya School, Thevakkal and Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) commemorate a significant milestone with the official signing of a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The ceremonial exchange of signatures between Dr. Dinesh, Registrar In Charge at KUFOS, and Dr. P Sreekumar, Executive Trustee of Vidyodaya School, took place on December 15, 2023, at KUFOS. This solemn occasion marks the institutional commitment to collaborative academic initiatives, setting the stage for a dynamic partnership in education.The distinguished presence of Dr. T Pradeep Kumar, Vice Chancellor of KUFOS, and Ms. Geetha Rajeev, Principal of Vidyodaya School, added gravitas to the event.

35.Youth Parliament – Report
* The Department of Social Science conducted Youth Parliament on 21st February 2024.
* Around 50 students from classes 7 to 9 participated in the programme.
* This programme aimed to inculcate healthy habits of discipline, and tolerance of the view of others and to enable the student community to know about the practices and procedures of the parliament.
* The students were given a mock parliament set up and exposure to the Parliament-type debate on various National issues as well as the procedure of the passing of a bill.
* Children exchanged their ideas, opinions are voiced, and leadership skills are honoured.

* Through this program, we aim to empower our children, cultivate critical thinking, and foster a sense of civic responsibility.
