Silver Jubilee

Smrithipadham

In connection with the Silver Jubilee celebration, 'Smrithipadham', a get-together of former Vidyodayan teachers was held on March 15, 2015  from 10.a.m. to 3.p.m. at Vidyodaya school, Thevakkal. Teachers who were part of Vidyodaya right from its inception, along with many others who moulded and chiselled Vidyodaya to her present glory turned up in large numbers. They were excited and Jubilant to see the institution's development. All the teachers were honoured and given mementos as part of our love and gratitude. A slide show about the 'History of Vidyodaya' was presented, followed by games, quiz etc. A thread of camaraderie tethered the group together making the bond stronger. Teachers shared their thoughts and wonderful experiences right from their heart. A beautiful Sunday, the 15th of March 2015 will be marked in the history of Vidyodaya as a day of friendship, gratitude, bonhomie, loyalty and above all the love for the '25 year old Vidyodaya'.

Parinaya.

It was gala time for Vidyodaya on 11th September 2015 but one with a difference: The school took a marked departure from the usual pomp and show connected with Silver Jubilee Celebration and made a sincere attempt to serve the people in distress. Parinaya, a community wedding was organised, wherein the nuptials of five couples from socially unprivileged strata was solemnised on the school campus in the presence of the kith and kin of the brides and grooms and distinguished guests from different walks of life. This noble  act was possible with the concerted effort of the Vidyodaya Management, staff, parents, alumni, students and all other well wishers. All the expenses for the wedding including jewellery, (5 sovereigns to each bride) costumes (for the bride, groom and their parents) and conveyance were borne by the school. The guests were treated to a sumptuous feast and the brides were sent off with a trousseau that would suffice a year.
